Orchids & Clay ~ 14th June 🌾

Join me for a truly special making experience in a Orchid meadow on a 300 acre wildlife farm in Shadoxhurst, Kent.

Surrounded by nature, we’ll preserve the fleeting beauty of common spotted orchids by gently pressing their forms into clay, transforming them into your own ceramic plate or wall hanging.

This workshop is an invitation to slow down and connect with nature and clay.

What to expect
At the heart of this workshop is a mindful making process, where you’ll press the delicate forms of wild orchids and surrounding meadow plants into clay. Rather than picking, we’ll work in a way that allows the plants to remain where they grow and continue to thrive.

I’ll guide you through shaping your plate/wall hanging, capturing these intricate botanical details, creating a truly unique piece. Each plate will be finished in a soft oatmeal glaze to highlight the natural textures.

Light foraging & Wild Tea
We’ll take a short, mindful walk (20 mins) to the meadow, gathering a small selection of seasonal plants for tea. This is a slow and sensory moment, with a little insight into what’s growing around us.

Seasonal cake & tea
As we create, we’ll enjoy a seasonal vegan cake alongside freshly prepared herbal tea.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Accessibility:

If you have any accessibility requirements, please feel free to get in touch. I’ll always do my best to accommodate where possible. My studio is accessible via a ramp, with all facilities located on the ground floor.

Breakages:

Due to the many variable factors in the process, there is always a risk of technical failures and breakages that are beyond control. The beauty (and frustration!) with ceramics is the art of letting go, something I still struggle with. I will do my absolute best to make sure that your work makes it into your hands after firing!

Cancellations & Refund Policy :

If you are unable to make the workshop please let me know as soon as possible. I will do my best to accommodate where I can.

Cancellations made more than two weeks (14 days) before the workshop date will be refunded, minus a £10 admin fee.

To ensure that the class remains viable for others, cancellations made within the two weeks before the workshop date (13 days or less) are non-refundable.

If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to pass your booking to a friend. Just be sure to let me know in advance. Please note that refunds won’t be available for no-shows.
